Made-in 12” blue carbon steel wok. Blued, seasoned ALL DAY with a thin  layer of made in seasoning wax, heated till smoking, cooled down.  Occasionally I did a layer of vegetable oil.

I bought this wok. it said carbon steel. but it looks different than my  regular carbon steel which requires seasoning and shouldn't be cleaned with  soap. is this a normal carbon steel

What to do? My hubby didn't clue in that you have to treat a carbon steel  wok differently than other pots. He cleaned some stubborn stains with  vinegar- well then this happened!

Is this normal patina or rust? Have used this BK black steel wok 3 times  and this is what it looks like. Nothing really sticks although I did notice  stir fry sauce
